New England Sea Kayaker: New, Free Online Paddling Magazine

New England Sea Kayaker is a cool new online magazine for any level of kayking enthusiast. It is a free publication that complements the many online resources already available. Although the focus is on New England the techniques and tips are universal. They link to most of the official kayaking sites popular today.

Five times each year, New England Sea Kayaker provides information, instruction, and helpful hints that will improve skills, broaden horizons, and help make the most of sea kayaking. Best of all, this online magazine, edited by an industry professional and found at http://kayak.ScenicNewEngland.net, is free! Somerville, MA (PRWEB) April 1, 2005 -- New England Sea Kayaker, a new, free online paddling magazine, has announced the release of its April/May 2005 issue. The magazine can be found at http://kayak.ScenicNewEngland.net/ The new issue includes feature articles on ocean kayaking safety (the first of three parts) and camping along the Maine Island Trail. Readers will also find a trip plan to the Boston Harbor Islands National Park Area, an instructional article teaching the low and high braces, a paddler's guide to the Cliff Walk in Newport, Rhode Island, plus two other articles. "We wanted to create a hometown sea kayaking magazine that utilizes the advantages of the internet," says professional kayaking instructor and NESK editor Daniel Smith. "We can offer millions of people a product superior to a print magazine -- the graphics capabilities of the web allow us to teach in much greater detail." New England Sea Kayaker will release five issues each year, each providing information, instruction, and helpful hints that will improve skills, broaden horizons, and help make the most of sea kayaking in the northeast. Each new issue will be posted at http://kayak.ScenicNewEngland.net/ Visitors to the magazine will also find a comprehensive list of kayaking links, a paddling glossary, book reviews, an archive of past issues, and a calculator that predicts ocean tidal currents. What guests won't find is advertising. "In New England Sea Kayaker we've created a well-rounded site that only provides worthwhile, quality content that is not biased by sponsorship," says Smith. About the Editor: Daniel Smith is a full-time Kayaking Instructor and Guide at Charles River Canoe & Kayak in Newton, Mass. He has been paddling for six years all across New England. After pursuing a doctorate in biology at Harvard University, he chose a career path closer to his heart. His first website, Dansm's Guitar Pages at http://www.ScenicNewEngland.net, has received more than 3 million visitors in the past 9 years.
