Established more than 10 years ago, Southeast Sea Kayak is the brainchild of Greg Thomas and Kim Kirby, both people who share a love for padding, the wilderness, and wildlife in one of the most beautiful places on earth – Alaska. This company is committed to making each sea-kayaking trip an exceptional experience for small groups of people. While Southeast Sea Kayak wants you to see new things, the number one goal is to give you another option from the overcrowded cruise line tours, allowing you to get up close and personal with Alaska and all she has to offer. Greg is an Australia native, having spent the majority of his life on the water. In fact, Greg is the President of the Underwater Research Group in Sydney, having dived with the famous Jacques Cousteau, along with other water pioneers. Tired of the corporate world, he took his passion for the outdoors and turned it into a huge success. Kim was born in Britain but made her way to Alaska via Glacier Bay. With a huge love of kayaking, she began working as a guide in Baja, California and at one time, was involved in commercial fishing for salmon and shrimping. Additionally, Kim is a pilot of a floatplane, allowing her the opportunity to explore wilderness lakes for future kayaking. Her love for sea kayaking and her friendship with Greg led to a wonderful creation – Southeast Sea Kayaking.
