The dramatic beauty of New Zealand draws sea kayakers in from around the world. Although kayaking can be a little challenging due to the sudden weather changes, most professional outfitters are accustomed to the weather and therefore, use more stable, double kayaks for the trips.

Sea kayaking in New Zealand offers a chance to enjoy nature in a remote sense. Again, the weather has a tendency to change, along with water conditions, which is why New Zealand is often a destination choice for more advanced kayakers. For this tour, you would leave from Te Anau early in the morning. This guided expedition is for the experienced kayaker that starts out with a helicopter ride to Supper Cove. From there, you would make your way to Disappointment Cove and then on to Break Sea Sound. Keep in mind that this is a very remote area of New Zealand and most definitely not for the faint of heart.

The beautiful aspect of this sea kayaking trip in New Zealand is the rich history and abundance of wildlife you will experience along your journey. For example, in the 1700s, the area of Maori was actually the home to Captain Cook at one time. For wildlife, you will discover Fur Seal, Bottlenose Dolphin, Dusky, Fiordland Crested Penguin, and a number of species of seabird. The overall experience is challenging. However, it is also a magnificent way to sea kayak through one of the most beautiful countries of all.
